Our Lady of the Abandoned Church
The church includes one of the few statues of the Virgin Mary revered as a miracle, which the Pope has recognized. The church itself is a testament to the religious controversy surrounding the early history of Marikina, in which Jesuits and Augustinians fought for control of the local church.

The Shoe Museum was established in 1998, with the city being considered the capital of Shields at the time in the Philippines, by the then-mayor, Bayani F. Fernando.
