Law protecting real estate installment buyers
Definition
Republic Act 6552, known as the Maceda Law, protects buyers of real estate on installment. If you've paid at least 2 years of installments and can't continue, you're entitled to a 50% refund (plus 5% per year beyond 5 years, max 90%). It also provides grace periods for missed payments.
